Alright, this year has been interesting. Personally, I achieved the goals I set for this year, most notably, I bought my first car. I also went on a real vacation for the first time in many years. I have had a good year and I am very grateful for that. There was a lot of things that went on nationally and internationally that I will briefly discuss. To be honest, I tried not to pay too much attention to the news because it is intentionally so bleak, but there were some major moments this year.
U.S. News
- There were more mass shootings this year. As with every shooting, the politicians come out yelling and screaming, but nothing gets done. The criminals who commit these atrocities were known to law enforcement, yet no one bothered to lock these fools up beforehand. Calls to disarm regular citizens rise as criminals continue to wreak havoc on elementary schools, night clubs, parades, college campuses, and anywhere else. Its bullshit
- Midterm elections were bullshit. Democrats kept the Senate while Republicans took the House. Both parties don’t give a shit about us.
- Hurricane Ian
- Kentaji Brown Jackson became the frst Black woman in Supreme Court
- Roe v. Wade was overturned by Supreme Court. Abortion is now a state-by-state issue
- COVID is still a thing
- WE ARE IN A FUCKING RECESSION
World News
- Queen Elizabeth died
- Russia invaded Ukraine
- Canada banned guns
- Iran protests
Entertainment & Sports
- Will Smith slapped Chris Rock on national TV at the Oscars and thats all anyone has talked about ALL YEAR
- The Emmys were amazing, read my recap here.
- Serena Williams retired from tennis
- Beyonce released an album
- Rihanna had a baby boy
- Johnny Deep and Amber Heard trial played out like a fucking reality tv show
- Kanye West went wild. He was right and he was wrong. So there is that
- Tom Brady chose football over his family.

Overall
As the year comes to a close, I am hopeful for 2023 on a personal level. On a national and international level, I have no idea what is going to happen, and I am not going to drive myself nuts worrying about it. Here’s to a great 2023 for us all.
