Hit Me Hard and Soft by Billie Eilish: Album Review

Although this album came out back in May, I’m just now getting around to posting this review. Hit Me Hard and Soft is Billie Eilish’s third studio album. I enjoyed this album so much. It’s got a solid ten tracks, so its not too long. Every song flows together well.

I like all the songs, with ‘Birds of a Feather’ being my favorite. The song ‘Lunch’ was a fun tongue and cheek nod to Billie’s sexuality. ‘Skinny’ was a reflection about her time in the public eye up to this point. I like the beat on ‘Chihiro’. ‘Wildflower’ tells a painful story of regret.’L’amour de ma vie’, which is French for love of my life, has a cool techno switch out on the beat at the end. ‘The Greatest’ is about how she loved someone deeply and they didn’t seem to love her back as deeply. ‘Bittersuite’ was decent. The song that closed the album, ‘Blue’ was pretty good too and I like how it ended.

I give this album 5 out of 5 stars. Go give it a listen, and if you can find a vinyl or CD copy in stores, go buy it.
